I’m surprised no one had a net!!! that hat looked ridiculous and to think people worried Kate and Chelsy would steal the spotlight from the Bride and Groom.
Well, I saw a pic of her whole outfit, and the dress was designed with one gigantic butterfly print. Were there any pics of what her sister was wearing? I didn’t see her in any of the snaps but perhaps she didn’t stand out as much!
The apple never falls far from the tree. Her mom could not dress, she had no style, therefore Bea has none. I believe her life is devoted to looking horrible. If/when she weds, I can only imagine she will look like a giant meringue snowbeast with all the tackiness money can buy. It’s not because someone’s rich that they can dress.
But to add to that I do think her dress sense is often somewhat cheesey! I guess that’s why stylists are so much in demand for high profile people. The risk of getting it wrong in such a venue and then to have to see your choices laughed at by the worlds press…….
Surprisingly, I like the hat. It is very whimsical for a Spring wedding. If Bea had paired the hat with a solid color dress with matching jacket that fit properly, she would have looked 1,000%better.
If you want to talk about ugly hats, take a look at the one worn by Lady Gabriella Windsor. Ugh!
PS. I hope everything is OK with our friend Gigi. It’s not like her to be away from RA this long, especially when a high profile event is being discussed. We are thinking about you, Gigi.
Doesn’t anyone remember Princess Irulan in the miniseries version of Dune? She arrives at the banquet on Arrakis with a butterfly headdress and I think some on her gown. (Supposedly the original concept was for a swarm of butterflies swirling around her, but that turned out to be too technically complex).
Anyway, I think she’s beautiful and don’t like any criticism of her very healthy size, but I didn’t like the hat.
I disagree with you, Nina, regarding the Duchess of York. She looked stunningly beautiful on her wedding day and on many other occasions as well. What made fashion so difficult for Sarah, Duchess of York, was that she was constantly being compared unfavorably to the dazzling Diana, Princess of Wales, and also that Sarah’s weight flucuated wildly, especially during her marriage, in part because of the stress she was under. The reason that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are so beautiful is that they are the daughters of two extremely attractive parents, Prince Drop-Dead Gorgeous Andrew, Duke of York, and the very lovely Sarah, Duchess of York.
I kind of like it, but is there a picture of the whole body to see how that hat complements the dress? the whole outfit needs to be seen together to come up with an answer.
Gigi, I wouldn’t call Bea beautiful. Her younger sister, Eugenie (Jesus, that name! What were they thinking ..), is more attractive. Atleast she knows how to keep her lips closed…
I would not call them “beautiful”, but they are attractive enough. Sarah was a pretty girl, in fact there were times when I thought that she was even prettier than Diana. But she had no sense of style/fashion whatsoever. And Bea is faithfully following her beloved “Mummy” – soon ends up being a walking Fashion Catastrophe..
Eugenie may well end up being well treated by the media. She is not as “colourful” or – let’s say it – vulgar as her older sister. She seems more subtle, classy and even lady-like. Bea needs to get a decent haircut and help from stylists. And then some. And please dear God, do not let Sarah interfere too much..
Lina, Princess Beatrice is only 19 years old and obviously having fun with fashion. The frock and matching hat she wore to Peter’s and Autumn’s wedding was from Alexander McQueen’s Spring collection and probably cost a few pounds. I will be the first one to admit that because something is “in vogue” doesn’t mean it’s going to look good on everyone. That is where Beatrice went wrong. Her outfit wasn’t flattering on her and that does show a certain lack of fashion sense. However, it is hardly a reason to call Beatrice vulgar. I believe you are being a bit harsh on the Princess and she doesn’t deserve that kind of criticism.
With regard to her sister’s name, Eugenie was the name of Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter. I’ll go out on a limb and say Princess Eugenie was probably named for her ancestor.
Lina, I was mistaken. Princess Eugenie was named for Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, HM Victoria Eugenie of Spain. Princess Beatrice was named for Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter. Right church, wrong pew!
I cannot imagine her as a VIP shopper. Who would want to be dressed by Bea? The palace should get her a stylist. She really needs one.

Call me contrarian but I think the hat is adorable and creative! Better than the same old ‘royal’ safe thing!

Ah, one vote in favour. It would certainly go down well at the Rio Carnival.

I thought the idea was cute, but maybe the number of butterflies should have been scaled down a bit.

Bea with her mouth gaping wide open, as usual.
She is Sarah Number 2, sad but true.

I love Beas hat good on her for having the confidence to wear that hat.

Hehe, well I am glad that Eugenie does not seem to have that much fun with fashion.
Lol!!!!
