Prince Philip : Breaking News
Prince Philip has just left hospital after spending three days undergoing treatment for a serious chest infection.
It’s unclear whether the 86-year-old Consort to the Queen will attend his two engagements tomorrow, Monday, or one on Thursday.
Everyone will welcome this news after yesterday’s false reports.

Thank heavens! I am delighted to read elsewhere that the Duke walked jauntily out of the hospital with a big smile on his face! Clearly the rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated!
Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief and wish the Duke a speedy recovery at Windsor Castle, a Royal residence so beautiful that it should make anyone feel better just to be there.

That is very good news indeed. I hope Prince Philip takes it easy for a few days to fully recover. He doesn’t want to relapse by doing too much too soon.
Gigi, I’m also happy Prince Philip is returning to the splendor of Windsor Castle post hospital. If it were Sandringham, I’d be worried.

It is amusing that you mentioned Sandringham, because I thought, also, that it was fortunate that Prince Philip did not go there to convalesce. Unless millions of pounds have been spent recently to make Sandringham far more snug and insulated, it would be a place to catch pneumonia, not cure it. Even though a fortune was spent to build it for King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, it was always said to be terribly cold, damp and draughty and not at all a healthy place to stay. I hope rather than believe that it has been improved upon, as the costs would be prohibitive, to say the least.

Convalesce? Prince Philip? He’ll be out carriage driving tomorrow, even in the snow we’re now suffering.

Who cares if he carries out his engagements!!! I’m just so happy that he is going home to Windsor to recuperate. I just pray he becomes a good patient.

I too am happy that is doing well and is now recovering. I live in the United States and follow the Royal Family. I hope he has a complete and total recovery.

You are probably right, John, but somehow I hope The Duke of Edinburgh can be prevailed upon to take it easy for a few days at the very least. It may require a direct command from the Queen (or, failing that, an Act of God),
but it is not a good idea, at his age, to take unnecessary chances. I agree with you, Trudie, well said!
