Diana Coroner — not a shred of conspiracy evidence
Lord Justice Scott Baker has started his summing up of the Diana Inquest in London. He began by stating that “there is not a shred of evidence of any conspiracy” to murder Diana by any person or government agency. It seems even Mohamed al Fayed’s lawyers are no longer making that claim.

Prince Philip, maliciously accused of a conspiracy to murder Diana
However, the judge has left the way open for an Unlawful Killing verdict by either Henri Paul, who drove the car while under the influence of alcohol, or the paparazzi, who chased the vehicle into the Alma tunnel that night.
The evidence also points to Henri Paul having tipped off the paparazzi that Diana would be leaving by the rear entrance of The Ritz Hotel in Paris. He appears to have received a cash payment for this transaction.
A verdict of Accidental Death seems more likely, but if Unlawful Killing due to Henri Paul’s actions is handed down by the jury, probably next week, it leaves the way open for massive damages claims against Mohamed al Fayed by all who have been traduced and falsely accused by him over the past decade.
It is unlikely that the most persistently accused, the Duke of Edinburgh, will take any action now.
Lord Justice Scott Baker is totally vindicated in his controversial decision to widen the scope of the Inquest to cover every aspect of the wilder conspiracy claims. There can be no doubt that what happened that night was a tragic accident, caused by a catalogue of events involving alcohol, drugs, bad decisions and minor betrayals, but above all, an almost total lack of security cover at The Ritz Hotel in Paris.
Why did Diana only have one bodyguard to protect her? And why did she make that fateful journey with no backup vehicle following behind?

We all knew it would turn out this way.

lets hope now she can rest in peace…

After ten years it’s about time, coni.

Amen coni and Arthur. Let her rest in peace.

The Daily Mail has an article claiming that the Inquest has received new evidence by email from France. Here we go again.
By Gigi on April 1st, 2008 at 3:08 pm
All the papers are carrying it, Gigi, but I fancy it may be an April Fool joke. The BBC had not picked it up when I last looked.
By John on April 1st, 2008 at 3:13 pm
John, surely no one would make a joke about that!
By Gigi on April 1st, 2008 at 3:31 pm
i dont think its an april fools prank - i suspect there are those that would like to see this ball keep rolling for their own gain…
By coni on April 1st, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Both the Times and the Telegraph have taken it down now, only the Mail is still carrying it, and the BBC hasn’t got it. Definitely an AF.
By John on April 1st, 2008 at 3:41 pm
Good grief, someone in France has lost all sense of good taste and decorum!
By Gigi on April 1st, 2008 at 3:43 pm
i’m with you gigi - how tacky!
By coni on April 1st, 2008 at 4:48 pm
The Mail has still got it up, suggesting it’s a DM AF. It is rather tasteless, Coni, I agree.
By John on April 1st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
No surprises on how this turned out. I do think Diana will not be allowed to RIP Burrell and all the other losers that claimed to be her friend still have money to be made.

This is a little off topic, but the Swedish press has announced the engagement of Crown Princess Victoria to her live in love, gym owner, Daniel Westling. The wedding will take place in Sweden this July, but it will be a low key Royal wedding. CP Victoria asked for permission to wed, but consent was refused by her father, King Carl Gustaf. The King does not believe Mr. Westling is a suitable Consort for the future Queen of Sweden. CP Victoria will not formally renounce the throne; however, by marrying without the King’s consent, she automatically forefits her place in the line of succession. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia are said to be upset and regret CP Victoria’s decision, but believe their son, Prince Carl Philip, will make an excellent Crown Prince and future King of Sweden.
It appears matters of the heart have, once again, taken priority over duty. I think I just heard The Duke and Duchess of Windsor spinning in their grave.

you’re right trudie - all burrell’s “talk” about being her “rock” and he sold her out under the “pretence” of wanting to set things straight…what a bunch of (>>>>) her true friends have kept to themselves…think its sad for her family that after 10 years she’s still being pulled through the mud…
By coni on April 1st, 2008 at 11:08 pm
arthur - good for her! also, read somewhere that prince albert of monaco is finally getting married. if/when his wife has a child that will push caroline and her children down the line as i believe they were next in line…
By coni on April 1st, 2008 at 11:13 pm
Coni, I understand Princess Caroline is not very happy about a pending engagement between Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock. Caroline enjoys being First Lady of Monaco and when asked to comment about Ms. Wittstock all Caroline could manage to say was: “She has swimmer’s shoulders.” I have one word for Princess Caroline - MEOW!
By Arthur on April 1st, 2008 at 11:22 pm
i figured she wouldnt be happy but didnt know she actually made a comment - you’re right she enjoys being first lady of monaco and she and her children are next in line. believe that charlene is a bit younger than albert so lots of time to have children even though i imagine they would make that the first order of business..dont know much about albert but caroline and stephaine did not inherit their parents grace and dignity thats for sure!
By coni on April 1st, 2008 at 11:27 pm
I am pleased to hear about Crown Princess Victoria and see no problem at all with her marrying the love of her life, nor with her brother, Prince Carl Philip becoming the Heir to the throne of Sweden.
I am also delighted to hear that Prince Albert of Monaco will wed his sweetheart. He always said that the woman whom he would love and marry would resemble his Mother, the late and beloved Princess Grace, and the lady of his choice does, indeed, resemble the Princess.
By Gigi on April 2nd, 2008 at 12:33 am
The story about Victoria sound like an April fool’s joke to me. Tss, tss, Arthur.
Princess Victoria is currently representing her country in Dubai.
By Isana on April 2nd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Between the two of them, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie have created enough scandal stories to last Monaco until the next millenium! Neither of them have the grace, good manners and discretion that they should have inherited from their mother, Princess Grace. Prince Albert ’s choice of consort seems to be a lovely young lady who shares his interests and I look forward to the wedding. I also hope that Prince Albert and his future wife have children to secure the throne because I do not admire Princess Caroline and Stefano Casiraghi’s three children. I view them as being badly brought up and rather wild in their behavior.
By Gigi on April 2nd, 2008 at 3:42 pm
i knew that caroline and stephaine were “wild” in their day but had no idea about caroline’s children - havent really read anything about them or perhaps i just wasnt paying attention. at any rate am sure they will be “knocked out” of the running - have no doubt that albert and his future wife will have children - speaking of - whens the wedding - havent read much about it..
By coni on April 2nd, 2008 at 4:45 pm
I was guessing that it was to be this summer, but since it is a wedding of a reigning monarch, albeit a Serene Highness rather than a Royal Highness, it will have to be a full-blown Royal wedding extravaganza, as was Prince Rainier and Princess Grace’s wedding. That, I imagine, will take far more planning, so my guess now is the Fall of 2008. Europe may regard the Grimaldis as minor Royalty but Monaco does not. This wedding will involve the entire principality and the rejoicing will be off the Richter Scale, if I am any judge. It was viewed as a great pity that Prince Albert had not married and sired heirs to the throne during the lifetimes of his Father and Mother, both of whom were said to wish it very much and to greatly prefer linear descent within the succession.

You caught me, Isana. The story about CP Victoria is an April Fool joke. I cannot take credit for originating the tale, but I thought it would be fun to post on RA.
By Arthur on April 2nd, 2008 at 6:43 pm
tee hee - you got me arthur…
By coni on April 2nd, 2008 at 6:59 pm
Fie! Arthur!!
What a naughty rumor to pass along to Royal Wedding starved RAers.
By Gigi on April 2nd, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Arthur, you got me too! It wasn’t like you to go off topic but I was completely taken in.
As for Caroline, I have admired her dress sense, I think she does look elegant and was beautiful but her personality lets alot to be desired.
I went off her when I heard how she stole her present husband from one of her closest friends. The families used to holiday together. The irony is that Princess Grace wanted her to marry Ernest of Hanover ever before she married anyone.
I understand where you are coming from, Gigi, about her children, they do have the air of Eurotrash about them but Charlotte is beautiful and young so there is still hope that she will be a throw back to her grandmother in demeanour because her mother and aunt have let alot to be desired in how they have conducted their lives.
By Eliza on April 2nd, 2008 at 8:17 pm
I’m sorry coni, Gigi and Eliza. After reading the earlier post about the tastless April Fool story concerning new evidence in the Princess Diana Inquest, I thought it appropriate to show a true April Fool’s joke. I don’t believe anyone was harmed, or repulsed, by the story about CP Victoria.
By Arthur on April 2nd, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Oh, of course not, Arthur, no apology necessary!
However, I think you should know that I was already deeply engrossed in coordinating my accessories for Crown Princess Victoria’s wedding, which, heaven only knows, is not the work of a moment!
By Gigi on April 2nd, 2008 at 9:58 pm
arthur..arthur…i wasnt upset by the CPV april fools at all….:) just saw that prince william ended up #16 on the worst dressed list - doesnt he dress like a normal young man his age? what do these people want!
By coni on April 2nd, 2008 at 10:04 pm
I would like to know just what outfits of Prince William’s these paragons of fashion are basing their criticism. He is either in privately tailored military uniform, in a tuxedo, in white tie and tails, in riding kit, athletic kit or jeans and a pullover with boots. I doubt that anyone of his age has clothing of finer quality or better value and I am sure that the labels on the Prince’s clothing are of a caliber equal to or exceeding anyone’s. Hmmmm…I am quite in a snit about this! Why on earth are these sniping fasionistas being so petty?!
By Gigi on April 3rd, 2008 at 2:10 am
I suppose these fashionistas are giving out that he isn’t cutting edge in his choice of dress but really that is just nonsense. Do we want to see him dressed a la David Beckham, I think not!
I like his outfit of choice; chinos and a shirt, sleeve rolled up, jacket optional.
Where did Harry come in this list? I saw pictures of him in South Africa smoking and I have to say he looked quite sexy but a bit grubby, those combats could do with a wash, does he not have a batman?

Reverting to the topic of April Fools jokes I was alerted to a particular SICK April Fools Joke on the Kate Middleton Report of 1st April that she was pregnant! It said that ‘Clarence House anounced today that Prince William and Kate Middleton were expecting a child together in the Autumn.’
Camilla is reported to being less than pleased.!!!!!!!!!!!!
