:) I admit that the champagne and the chocolate, the meringue and the Devonshire Cream shall flow like the Thames at high flood! :) Prepare a toast, please John, as I shall once again impose on your good graces to provide us with a suitable tribute to our hero Prince as soon as the champagne glasses are filled to the brim! :)

Well said, John and I very much appreciate your sentiments and those of Royalist and Lisa. I am bursting with pride for Prince Harry and am so very happy for him that he has had his chance to serve in a forward area, as he wished to do. I am sorry that his tour had to be cut short by two weeks, however, and only hope that the Prince arrives safely back in the UK. As soon as we know for certain that Prince Harry is safely back in the Kingdom, we shall celebrate with a Royal Anecdotes Gala "Hail the Conquering Hero Comes" Tea! What a tremendous blessing for Britain to have two Princes of the splendid character and sterling qualities of Prince Harry and Prince William!

We knew Harry was in a dangerous spot around Christmas. On reflection it could only have been Afghanistan since the Iraq effort has been reduced to the Basra airport base and a training mission -- with some naval oil protection at sea.

There was no real alternative location for him. It's quite possible the Aussie rag made the same guess. Drudge, however, seems to have reported this in full knowledge of the media blackout.

Drudge is not America, so Americans shouldn't feel guilty about it. It could easily have been a British anti-Royal website.

The MoD knew that if he were deployed there, the press would hear about it very quickly. People close to the action do sell highly-charged stories to the media. So, the only way for Harry to be able to go was by agreement. The press needed a quid pro quo so the old ploy of the promise of a biggie at a later date, plus documentary-type footage for the TV stations, was put in place. It was the only way Harry could get out of the country.

He was spirited in by the SAS, and I'm sure he has now been spirited out, whatever the MoD says : "We are considering the future of his deployment" is the gist of it. Huh! they will already have had a contingency plan.

So let's celebrate his 10-week stint fighting for his country -- and, of course, NATO, whose mission this is.
