Wed now, Charlotte Church tells William and Kate
According to Karen Price of the Western Mail (the newspaper of Wales), singer Charlotte Church says she wishes Prince William and Kate Middleton would get married. It seems that would take the pressure off her and rugby star boyfriend, Gavin Henson.
Call me old fashioned, but isn’t that just the teensie-weensiest bit selfish? To call on your future King to marry in order to take the spotlight off yourself … well, it’s a lot to ask by any standards.
Maybe we can put it down to the hormones generated by her pregnancy — a good enough reason for you to wed, Charlotte!
The Western Mail says, “But the pregnant singer– turned TV presenter — now admits that it is unlikely she and the injured Welsh rugby international will tie the knot themselves. And while she feels she attracts as much media interest as the Royal couple, Charlotte, 21, says she isn’t flash with cash.”
Too much information and not enough action, Royal Anecdotes believes.
Charlotte apparently told the Sunday Times’ Style section last weekend, “He’s the most gorgeous, lush, beautiful man I’ve ever seen.†That’s Henson, by the way.
Well then, do it for King and Country, Charlotte.

Someone should tell Charlotte that good looks will not necessarily make for a good partner or spouse. Her request that William propose to Kate is awfully hypocritical, as well as selfish, as John suggests.

It appears to me that Charlotte is obsessed with her own celebrity. Too bad I’m not! The former “Voice of an Angel,” who sang for the Pope, has become a “fallen angel.”

Who does she think she is? I don’t know what happens in England, but here in USA she is a nobody. How she dares to compare herself to William. Pleeeeeeease!

I just read at hellomagazine.com that she is selling in ebay duplicate baby gifts for the baby to create a trust fund with the proceeds. How about donating duplicate gifts to charity or someone in need? If I gave her a gift I will sure be offended.

This is the type of behavior we have come to expect from these pathetic backward children who style themselves ‘celebrities.’ Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, both multi-millionaires, chose to ask their friends to write hefty checks when their children were born, glibly announcing that they were forming a trust fund so that their children could ‘help others.’ My guess is that they will merely help themselves. Charlotte Church is just as pathetic and self-seeking. I am also tired of the bad examples these idiots set for our young people, having children out of wedlock with their infatuation of the week. If there is one responsible adult in Hollywood, I have no idea who that person is.

Reese Witherspoon! Yes I…even I exempt her from my earlier denunciation of celebrities. I think she is splendid and Ryan Phillipe is an idiot. I am terribly cranky. Tea, I believe, is indicated, immediately if not sooner.

Gigi - I agree about Reese Witherspoon - and she’s a Southern girl! Charlotte Church cracks me up. She’s more than a little self-obsessed! Her plan for the duplicate gifts is disgusting.
Speaking of tea - I was treated to red velvet cake this past weekend! I played in a tennis tournament and the food committee (who always outdoes themselves) provided a gorgeous dessert table. The centerpiece was a beautiful red velvet cake! I cut the first piece!
Yum!

Oh how sad to see how some people just fall from grace the way they do. Charlotte had the most beautiful voice I had ever heard from a young girl - we were just entranced when we first heard her.
What the hell happened?

On the Outside it seems like Charlotte had too much too soon and noone around her had the common sense to guide her.

I got confused. Who is the lush, gorgeous man - CC’s boyfriend or Prince William???
By Mary on September 13th, 2007 at 1:44 am
CC’s boyfriend, a rugby player.

FYI, the Daily Mail is reporting that Kate has left her job at Jigsaw.

Good for Kate, she should leave if the job is unfulfilling to her. I hope she gets to show her photography. I’d love to see it.

John, the Daily Mail has a wonderful photo of Sophie Wessex, who apparently is five months pregnant and looks beautiful! Does that mean we will have a Royal Baby for Christmas? Lovely!
By Gigi on September 13th, 2007 at 3:06 am
Gigi saw the same picture and Sophie is positively Glowing!!!. If I remember Lady Louise was also supposed to be a December baby so I hope this time Sophie stops her engagements early in October and gets plenty of rest. I pray this time there will be no complications as was the case with Lady Louise.

I am adding your prayers to yours, dear Trudie. When the Royal Wessex baby is born, we will celebrate the safe arrival with a very festive Royal Anecdotes Gala Nativity Tea featuring champagne and petit fours in the shape of pink or blue baby booties, whichever is appropriate!
My dear John, this is no time to worry about calories, we can exercise the pounds off later!!
By Gigi on September 13th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Well, Gigi, I’ve always wanted to eat booties.
By John on September 13th, 2007 at 4:24 pm
LOL And so you shall, John.
Petit fours are so delicious you should not resist the urge to partake!
We have to have something rich and festive to eat as we toast the new Royal baby with our champagne.
By Gigi on September 13th, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Gigi in addition to the petite fours we should add one cupcake with a candle for the new addition. perhaps John being British will do the honors of popping the cork?.
By Trudie on September 14th, 2007 at 10:28 am
My speciality, Trudie.
By John on September 14th, 2007 at 10:47 am
Excellent notion, Trudie! Let us hope that John has strong thumbs. Champagne bottle corks are notoriously stubborn.
Weary duty but worth it!
