Kate Middleton hints at wedding
Attending a friend’s hen night at Mahiki, the London nightclub favoured by Prince William and Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, 25, hinted that she may be about to announce an engagement herself.

After being recently reunited with long-time boyfriend, Prince William, the Jigsaw fashion buyer didn’t discount wedding bells for the two of them.
“It’s not my night,” Kate told a reporter. Then added: “Not yet.”
Mischievous, perhaps, or just unable to hold it in any longer?
Let’s wait and see. Which is what we always do with this pair of lovebirds.

Lookout William! She’s probably going to get herself pregnant or something.

For heavens sake she was at a friends hen night and ofcourse that would make her think of what her own hen night will be like when the time comes whether it be William or someone else. Why make such a huge case of an innocent comment.
By Trudie on July 31st, 2007 at 6:28 pm
The press is still trying in any way shape and form to push Kate into the House of Windsor as a Bride. Look at Autumn and Peter, it just happened one day, that is the same way it will be for William, I think. No hints, just an announcement, whether it be Kate or anyone else. The press loves Kate enough to marry her, but so far William hasn’t committed marriage to her, the press may have a long wait or it may never happen for these two, but the comment sounds innocent, not like a hint, I don’t think Kate would be silly enough to hint, if she were getting engaged to William, she would not want to create problems for herself with the Royals or Clarence House PR machine.

I agree with you, Trudie. And ClassyCanuck, there was nothing ‘classy’ about your comment. Where is all this hostility coming from?
By Gigi on July 31st, 2007 at 7:23 pm
Where is the hostility coming from??? Oh Gigi, you obviously haven’t been to a few royalty sites where Kate is discussed, well, discussed is a polite way to put it.
I just hope that John clamps down on any irrational Kate bashing that could spring up here. He’s done a pretty good job so far. John

I doubt she said it, but if she did- it’s completely innocuous. Her “hen night” could be years from now with a completely different person. Mountains out of molehills and all that.

I do believe William & Kate will get married someday but I don’t she said that either. Kate is very smart and she knows that dropping hints like that will hurt her chances. I don’t believe that when William makes a announcement on marriage, it will be with someone else. William & Kate is together and they know theres no turning back. I wish them all the happiness in the world.

I don’t think Peter’s & Autumn’s announccement be compared to whaat William’s andwhoever he marries will be…. William is the future King of England…. that’s why not much attention has been placed on P&A….c’est la vie!
By Ziny on August 2nd, 2007 at 3:17 am
reagrding teh kate incidente…. Kate talking to the press????? whaaaaaat??? 1. I don’t think she is going to be talking to the press… 2. as someone mentioned previously, she was at a friend’s hen party,of course you start to imagine how yours will be (whomever she will get married with)….

Has anyone else seen the article in The Mirror today – how negative was that!!! Very anti-Kate I felt, which feels very strange to read from a newspaper.
By SuffolkSim on August 2nd, 2007 at 2:14 pm
It’s an opinion piece, so you’d expect an “edge” in a tabloid, Sim.
I hope Kate realizes that you can’t have the press at your beck and call without them eventually overwhelming you. All good stories reach saturation point, then they turn on their heads and become hostile.
It’s the media ecosystem, with editors expecting something different from the rest. That’s when support turns to attack. Every other celebrity goes through this cycle, Kate will too unless she stops behaving like one. (See my Ten Tips post for supportive advice on this point for Kate Middleton).

I can’t find the article you are referencing in today’s online Mirror. What are they saying about Kate?
We are all reeling here because the 35W bridge over the Mississippi River, In Minneapolis, Minnesota, collapsed during rush hour last evening just after 6PM. Rescue profesionals are now trying to recover bodies trapped beneath rubble in vehicles submerged in the river.

I don’t know why people are getting all bent out of shape over if Kate said something like that. People should stop trying to ruin William & Kate’s relationship. The is media is crazy.

i read the article…it was harsh… but it made sense…… she is actually on the cover of hello magazine this week…..she posed for them I think….maybe I’m wrong..?
By Ziny on August 3rd, 2007 at 12:58 am
OK so she posed for Hello. Diana also posed for a photo remember the shot where the light went through her skirt. That was done in the naive attempt that if she let them take a photo they would leave her alone at work. In the Hello photo it looks like Kate was posing before or after a training session. I think maybe she is doing this for the publicity to maybe raise more awareness that this is for charity. I still stand by my above comment this is much ado about absolutely nothing.

we will never know…..

I agree with you, Trudie. I am also exhausted from staying up all night reading Alastair Campbell’s Dairies, “The Blair Years.”
By Gigi on August 3rd, 2007 at 4:45 am
Gigi, the Mirror piece was published on August 1, so you have to use the search box for “kate middleton” on the site.
I have friends in Minneapolis so I was particularly interested in the story. The old cliche “going down like a pack of cards” was certainly true in this case. There doesn’t appear to be an external reason for it — no high winds or excessive traffic.
By John on August 3rd, 2007 at 7:38 am
I think you are correct Trudie about the Hello article – she looks less than comfortable in the many pictures and I am sure it has been done to promote the cause the Sisterhood are doing this race for and by her being there it brings it far more into the limelight.
By SuffolkSim on August 3rd, 2007 at 3:54 pm
John, two lanes of the bridge were closed because of construction, so the traffic was directed into the remaining lanes. It is not known as yet whether this redistribution of weight on the bridge contributed to the collapse. The experts are greatly puzzled that the south end of the bridge fell in an odd pattern. It is a great misfortune that this tragedy happened at rush hour (6PM) when the greatest number of people were traversing the bridge. There are still cars submerged in the Mississippi River, crushed with rubble, and perhaps with bodies trapped inside. You can be sure that this collapse will be investigated from A to Z and let us hope nothing like this ever happens again.

The emergency people certainly saved a lot of people by their swift reaction.
Our own authorities have ordered a review of similarly built bridges here.

Ah ah ah ah ah ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The incredibly swift response of the emergency personnel and citizens at the site when the accident occurred was, ineed remarkable. Many deeds of courage and selflessness were performed, resulting in the salvation of others. I am glad that Britain is reviewing the safety of their bridges. It is being arranged here, as well. It is a miracle more people were not killed and incredibly fortunate that the bus filled with children did not go over the edge. In the aftermath, while we grieve for those who lost loved ones, we are also counting our blessings. It might have been much, much worse.
