New Beau for Kate Middleton?
Well, it had to come. Someone like Kate Middleton is not going to stay single for long.

Yesterday she was pictured with an unknown chap in a pink shirt at — yes, you’ve guessed it — the Mahiki club, a favourite Royal wateringhole.
Attending the throng with the ubiquitous Guy Pelly, Kate was seen leaving with her mystery man, and clearly very happy about it too.
No doubt a name will emerge today and we’ll know whether Kate is serious or just having a laugh with us. He could, after all, just be a decoy.
But enough of conspiracy theories. We’ll wait on results.

Maybe Kate has read Royal Anecdotes and has decided to be shown with a new guy in order to shut up the rumors about a reconciliation with Wills?
I saw the photos and obviously the guy likes her very very much.
Anyway thats not my habit to criticize clothes but the guy’s shirt looks like my tea towels.

True, Lily, Royal Anecdotes is responsible for a lot of Royal stories.
He looks like a Sandhurst type to me, so may have been known to her before. Maybe William asked him to look out for her, but he got carried away.
As for his shirt? Unfortunate.

I hope that this gentleman has the right credentials to please mummy Middleton but I am happy to see Kate has started to put her life back in order and perhaps start dating other young men. As for his choice of outfit he rather needs help.

Somehow I doubt he is a serious beau for Kate. He just doesn’t look like her type and his sartorial sense needs, as has been noted earlier, major improvement!
I am rather surprised that the reporters haven’t been able to identify him yet. Someone at the clubs knows who he is, I am sure.

I think his clothes may have had something to do with the fact it was a Johnny Cash night at the Mahiki, Gigi. Even so, pink didn’t quite hit the spot.

We’re still trying to find out his name. I’m getting emailed by various people asking who he is. Some think it’s Guy Pelly (No), others, Thomas Van Straubenzee (Don’t think so).
It may, of course, be a complete unknown, or a bodyguard under cover. I expect the Mail will winkle him out later this evening.

His shirt wouldn’t be my first choice, but I don’t think it’s THAT bad. It’s just sort of…there. In a pink kind of way.

Well I hope I’m not about to ruin anyone’s day, but I just saw a lot of photos of Kate Middleton’s night out on another website, and she isn’t with that guy at all.
He seems to be an acquaintance or something, but the reason he’s sitting so close to her in the photo shown above is because there is a woman sitting next to him and he and Kate and the woman are all sitting on one tiny seat, so they’re packed like sardines.
The woman is on the gentleman’s left but she’s cut out of the photo shown above. I saw all of the pics and Kate is no more with that guy than I am. He might even be with the woman sitting on his other side, because in one photo I saw both the guy and the lady on the other side of him were speaking to Kate and laughing with her.
The photos of her night out are available on various photo news agencies. When you see the pics you’ll understand what I mean. It looks like she still hasn’t found her new beau yet.

which photo news agencies in particular? (if you don’t mind me asking…)
By Bex on May 31st, 2007 at 4:50 pm
You’re right, Mapleleaf, there’s certainly a blonde woman involved and she’s to the right in the picture shown here. You can just see her arm.
So panic over, then.
I bet Wills is glad.

Thank you, Mapleleaf! I feel better!

Bex, if John doesn’t mind me mentioning photo agencies on this site, then you may try WENN photos or bigpictures.co.uk, or Newscom.
I do believe they require membership or registration to see the larger versions of the photos, but you can get a look at some of the pictures. There are other agencies as well, I just can’t think of them all right now.
In some of the photos Kate is actually being pulled along by the hand by none other than Jamie Murray-Wells (he’s wearing a solid blue shirt), who is a good friend of Prince William’s. Somehow I don’t think that was a coincidence.
By mapleleaf on May 31st, 2007 at 6:58 pm
Yes, Jamie, of Glasses Direct, is in there. He’s been advising Kate on her children’s clothing business. I don’t think the pink-shirted fellow is a stranger either.
Thanks for the info, Mapleleaf.

The good news is the young woman is smiling. As to who the recipient of the smiles really is, only time will tell.
My hope is that everything in William and Kate’s futures, whatever it may be, is above board and honest. They may not owe honesty to the press but they do to the people.

Exactly Mrs Peperium.
People would be disappointed if Wills and Kate’s split is make-up and if they are making little games through the press.

I think we will be able to better assess the true situation after some of the events scheduled to take place this summer. If, for example, Prince William and Kate attend the wedding together and all appears to go well and if she attends the Concert for Diana as Prince William’s guest, then I believe we may consider them a couple once more. If she is included at the Memorial Service, for which the chosen venue has necessitated a small and select guest list, I will begin dreaming of a Royal Wedding again!
By Gigi on June 1st, 2007 at 6:54 pm
It’s not a question about if they are together again, sweet Gigi. It is a question of are they hiding it or not?
By Lilyfromfrance on June 1st, 2007 at 7:05 pm
Ahhh, well, that is a horse of a different color!
If there is anything that is baffling, it is covert dating.
I think we ought to hire a detective to find out for sure!
We could do a whole series around his/her investigation. “Royal Anecdotes Undercover.” Hmmm…maybe not. I believe that crash we just heard was John fainting dead away at the suggestion.
By Gigi on June 1st, 2007 at 9:37 pm
Gigi, we do a lot covert surveillance of significant individuals in partnership with MI5. We call it RA5 … but don’t breathe a word about it.
By John on June 2nd, 2007 at 9:01 am
LOL Good one, John!
Evidently RA5 is quite efficient since you have already discovered the identity of the young man who has been squiring Kate about recently!
