Prince Harry Deployment is Delayed
Updated
We’re hearing that Prince Harry’s deployment to Iraq has been delayed. He is now due to be flown out later than most of his squadron.

Rebecca English reports : “Senior Blues and Royals officers are concerned that his presence during the initial handover between units will be too disruptive. It will also give them time to put in place the measures needed to deal with having such a senior member of the Royal Family in a war zone.”
Security sources reportedly said that Harry and the troop of 11 soldiers he commands were being held back. It is the strongest proof yet that both the Army and the Ministry of Defence continue to have serious concerns about his deployment, despite an urgent review last week.
“The deployment of Harry’s squadron is, by necessity, staggered but the fact that Harry and his men are being sent over at a later date shows just how much a strain his presence will have on the squadron,” the source said.
“Everyone involved has sympathy for the Prince but it is an increasingly difficult situation and one that is changing day by day.”
Let’s hope Sir Richard Dannatt is having second thoughts.

Well, John, I, for one, am breathing a bit easier with the news of the delayed deployment. Prior to this, I truly feared Sir Richard had lost his mind. I wish that Prince Harry would not be deployed at all. The frequent vascillations of the High Command in Britain have all but wrecked my central nervous system!

Gigi, with the current compensation culture over here you should be able to claim extensive damages for your central nervous system from the MoD. Just employ a good “human rights” lawyer — “No win, no fee”, of course.
I wonder where all that came from?

I still fail to understand why Sir Richard feels the need to deploy Harry when the situation is so volatile and all the threats that have been against him. I say keep him home just as our dear President Bully Bush is keeping his daughters home. HM is willing to risk her grandson is it too much for Bush to set an example and send in one of his family members?.

If Harry wants to go to the front - let him. He was trained to do this. I have to admire this kid for wanting to put himself on the front line. It would be just so easy for him to say, “sorry, can’t do this, I’m a royal and cannot put myself in such danger”. No - he WANTS to do this.
Frankly - I feel Bush should send his BRATS into the war. Let HIM see what it feels to have your kid be put into the line of fire. Maybe then he’ll think twice about sending even MORE kids into such a useless, senseless war that was based on a LIE.
Harry is to be admired for his bravery. Too bad it’s for this particular war - but hey, he wants to go. Let him go.
