MoD and Clarence House Statement

The UK Ministry of Defence and Clarence House have issued a joint statement on the deployment of Prince Harry to Iraq :

A joint statement from the Ministry of Defence and Clarence House about the operational deployment of Cornet Wales. 22nd February 2007

We can confirm today that Prince Harry will deploy to Iraq later this year in command of a troop from ‘A Squadron’ of the Household Cavalry Regiment.

Whilst in Iraq Cornet Wales will carry out a normal troop commander’s role, involving leading a troop of 12 men in four Scimitar armoured reconnaissance vehicles, each with a crew of three.

The decision to deploy him has been a military one, made by The Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Richard Dannatt, in conjunction with Cornet Wales’ commanding officer. The Royal Household has been consulted throughout.

Speculation about precisely where Cornet Wales will serve, or the exact details of his role, is potentially dangerous. The Ministry of Defence and Clarence House are writing to ask all media organisations to respect this matter of operational security in order that Cornet Wales can undertake a normal tour of duty, which is his express wish and that of the Army.

A Statement by Royal Anecdotes

Good luck, Harry. Give ‘em hell. Come home safely.

    i share your sentiment john…

  2. I share them as well, John. Let us pray and hope for the best.

  3. Lets hope that the media heeds the request of the Ministry of Defense and Clarence House and Pray that Harry and his troop will return home unharmed. Good Luck Harry to you and your troop Give them Hell and return safely. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL!!!

  4. Thanks, everyone. If Harry reads this he’ll have no doubt we are all behind him in the difficult months ahead.

  5. May I also say, ADVANCE BRITANNIA!

  6. Harry give them peace and hope for a new world. And some chocolates to those litle Iraqi children.Since i cant eat them.

  7. Well said, Shake. That too.

  8. Hey John.I wonder, did you happened to catch some parts of Harrys 21 Birthday interview, that had never aired before where Harry even from back then refers TO THE POSSIBILITY OF GOING TO IRAQ OR ANY OTHER FRONTLINE AND THAT IF HE ISNT ALLOWED HE WILL RESING,AND HE HASMADE THAT VERY CLEAR FROM THE BEGINING.HE ALSO MENTIONED A FEW NAMESFROM THE SOLDIERS HE IS WITH AND SAYS I WONT STAY BACK TO WONDER WHAT
DEREK OR DAVID ARE DOING.IAM TELLING YOU,THIS FOOTAGE HAVENT BEEN SHOWNTHEN,AND JUST SHOW IT NOW,ON BBCWORLD.ILL TRY TO SEE IT BBC NEWS UK HAS
IT TOO.I CANT IMAGINE WHAT ELSE WAS CUT OFF FROM THAT INTERVIEW.ALSO
ITS ANOTHER PROOF OF HOW FOCUSED AND HOW CLEAR HARRY HAD IN HIS MIND ON
WHAT HE WANTED.He even answers of on the issue about the pressure on his regiment from having him with them.

It does make you wonder what else Ch had cut offfrom that interview, and how come we only heard the i love Camilla to bits part. The Itn cameraman who followed Harry at Eton for his 18birthday special, talked about how much Harry was mentioning his mother, his room full of pics with her,and how evident it was he was missing her,and in his whole footage,he will talk about her,and was a massive influence in his life. That footage though was cut,and they only showed the part where he is with Mario Testino. And now i remember the Bbc man who did Willies interview up in St Andrews when he was finishing Uni.Willie again failed to say more than the usual line about his mother, and when reporters asked the journalist why he didnt asked him about his mother,he answered Ch had told him,William wont answer any question about her.

  9. Its realy worthnoticing, how Harry at 18 talked about honoring Diana with an Aids charity, and he did it,years after, and in his 21 talked about going to Iraq and wont accept to stay behind, and he did it again.Talk about being a man who does what he says. You got to see this, its as if he predicts everything, cause it has happened as he said them.

  10. Shake, BBC interviews are not cut by Clarence House. They have limited time onair so they cut them to fit.

  11. No John,Clarence House has the copyright in whatever access the press has on William and Harry.Check it yourself John.Seems to me Ch didnt wanted to show that footage then cause it was controversial cause of the ongoing war and controversy.Check out the whole transcript from the Prince of Wales site. The words that Bbc showed today, doesnt exist in the whole interview transcript.
Like the recent interview about the concert, that point where Harryclearly says something to Willie and makes him change his words about Diana, those words arent appearing in Transcript.

  12. It does make you wonder what else they have cut.

  13. Also any comment about the complete lack of any statement from Proud Father?Or big brother? That Royal Household seemed rather cold to me.We havent heard any reaction from Dad or family.Hmmmmm.

  14. I wondered about that, too. I wonder why neither Charles nor Camilla have commented on Prince Harry’s deployment. Of course, they are in Kuwait, but they have press people with them, so it would not be hard for a press release to be arranged. The Queen is probably not going to comment, but Prince Philip is usually good for a comment or two. The silence is mystifying.

  15. John I have to agree with Shake I think the BBC interviews are reviewed by CH. I’m sure that the BBC’s late chairman Sir Marmaduke Hussey’s widow Lady Susan still has some influence and as a Lady in Waiting to HM and a Friend of Charles I think Shake has a valid point. If anything Harry totally is a man of his word.

  17. I know our hearts and prayers are with Prince Harry.
Canada stands on guard for thee.

    God save the Queen

  18.

  19. And God’s speed to Harry for going off to this FARCE of a war.

  20. My two much younger cousins are there, on their third tours in Iraq, fighting in the US military. They believe in what they are fighting for and so do I. Prince Harry believes in it, too, or he would not have argued so hard to be allowed to serve. This is no time for doubts and cynicism. We need to be united in our support for the Nation and the Prince.

  21. I just got reminded that Darling Charlie was against this war,and even talked about politics on this one.Well he is trapped now,his own son is going.WHat is he going to say?Still no comment.

  22. I am really floored that there has been no comment from the Royal Family at all. I remember when Prince Andrew was serving in the Falklands War that there were quoted comments in the press about how proud the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were of him. The least Charles could do was to issue a statement saying he supports Prince Harry or something. There ARE telephones and computers in Kuwait. In fact, they are probably solid gold! :( I am getting huffy again. :(

  23. Gigi, it is a TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE that it is necessary for Prince Harry to put his life on the line for something that should not have been. I marched in the streets in front of the White House in opposition to this before the first shots were fired. I was OUTRAGED when Colin Powell went before the UN KNOWING that this would be a FARCE. This is not cynicism on my part nor making light of Harry’s or anyone else’s sacrifice. Innocent people have died because of this war. It’s disgusting. And speaking out against this is just as honorable as praying for the safety of the troops. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Check it out: http://www.firedoglake.com To see the too little too late deliberations about one measly “Scooter” who was thrown under the bus by his cohorts for a hit job gone bad on the outed CIA agent/wife of Joe Wilson, who dared tell the truth back in 2003. And who will probably be pardoned by our former Texas National Guardsman as soon as the guilty verdict is read.

You see, I too, can hijak a thread, only not to rage about the mistreatment of Princess Diana.

  24. I was against this war too,in the way it happened we should have explained the reasons better and make the world understand the situation with Saddam, not lie about the weapons of mass destruction. But now things are far worse with a civil war going on,and we just cant let the poor Iraqis now alone, leaving the country to the fanatics and lunatics. We promised democracy, when we entered,we need to establish it,and make some safe inviroment for the charities to get in.

  25. Shake, there were no good reasons to go into Iraq. Al Baradei said there were no weapons and it turns out he was correct. Powell, one of the most respected of this administration KNEW THEY HAD NO SMOKING GUN and didn’t speak up. But the former Texas National Guardsman & ex-fratboy cheerleader sent the troops in anyway. Then Chimply McFlightsuit turns up to declare Mission Accomplished. While soldiers were getting their butts shot off. I’m supposed to make nice and cheer rah rah like it’s a Colts ballgame to send more young people into a meatgrinder over there? I don’t think so. So yeah, we all pray for the troops. But we’re still pissed about them being there. I can’t apologize for that. Or be quiet about it. This whole thing is wrong.

  26. Two years and counting for the return of sanity, God willing.

  27. Lastly, please Google these words in one search:

    “Murray Waas” and “Iraq war.”

  28. I have a first-cousin (Lt. Col.) there as well, who left her two small sons (both younger than 10 years old) and her husband (also Lt. Col.) at home. To put it mildly, they are both pissed off about what is going on over there. And have said the same thing: it is a DISASTER over there.

  29. Positive,i live in a country where the 80% of the people is against of this war,and a big majority too is hostile towards the Us,cause of the war against Serbia.I know all this, and you are right. But i still believe we just cant leave now,the country is a mess, and in much more terrible state, than with Saddam, and we need to stay there. Its going to be alot worser if we abandon them now like that. And Harry is a soldier, thats what he does. There was a military expertise yesterday talking about him, saying it was the right decision to go,cause he knows Harry is popular with his regiment, and has bonded very closely with the soldiers he commans,12 of them.If he was left out there would have been a drop on the moral. The war is wrong,ok,who dissagrees with that? But so many thousands have their sons and daughters out there, and most of them believe that they went there to give freedom and a better future.Imagine them to have to come back with their heads down.It will be a huge failure all along. It may sound dreamie but thats what i think. You seem like a dreamer too,and iam glad to hear you are a protester too. They have their own beliefs, and most of them believe they went there to help,to do good.In this society and world, fighting for something so honourable,is very hard to find. And thats why i admired Diana so much.Cause she was always the loser, and even if she died, she changed people, changed beliefs, changed thoughts. At least my own.

  30. Shake as usual we will have to agree to disagree. We have been duped, well we anti-war types weren’t because knew they were running game. And without causing John anymore heartburn over my outbursts, I’ll just say that some of in power have shown a capacity to lie with impunity and then ruthlessly go after those who attempt to expose them. I know that we cannot abruptly leave Iraq. But I do not have to nor will I “shut up and pray” (Coulter) when I know this war is a SHAM.

Except of course when John comes back and tells me to shut up. :-)

  31. And for the record Diana was highly thought of by most of us in the US, I think. She too, was lied to and tricked into a sham of a marriage. I guess we have that in common with her. Sham of a war, sham of a marriage, ying, yang.

  32. So yes, I will steadfastly hope and believe that Harry will return home safely, where I look forward to more pictures of him tumbling out of the club with hookers. :-) Or marching down the aisle with Chelsy. I’d much rather enjoy those than pics of him marching with an M-16 in his hands.

    Peace.

  33. Well dont worry, iam sure WIlliam and Kate will keep us busy.
I think that was a great converse, and i doubt John will ever say anyone to shut up.Why?Everybody has a right to his opinion. And especialy someone who facts are proving herright, cause lets face it,the war hasnt been a success as you said, nor it was justified,or at least the reason they justified it was lies.I want Harry to be happy and calm. And do what he believes in.He seems much more Happy and focused than WIlliam, whom i started feeling so sorry for ,seeing his pics lately.God he looks awfull and trapped like a caged animal.

  34. “where I look forward to more pictures of him tumbling out of the club with hookers”… that is quite a precious statement. not only because i seem to recall a statement awhile back about how someone could care less if harry was swinging from trees like a monkey, but also because of its very obvious sarcastic demeanor. :D cute. very cute.

  35. Well Williams mentor, just recently was caught meeting at ghis London house 4 hookers in one day./It does makes you wonder what he taught William/Hehhehe.
I must say i dont expect anyone of the two to be faithfull, they were raised in an inviroment where its natural to cheat, and they even accepted the mistress so easily,so i guess they saw nothing wrong to it/Diana rebelled to it,then tried to do it too,and was going straight to suicide. It was one of the reasons They rejected her.SHe wanted her husband to be faithfull.

  36. Charles and Camilla visisted an army base yesterday, and met British soldiers, and the press were expecting a comment at least a comment, but nothing.Hhmmm.
The Queen already sended her blessing throu an unofficial comment made by a courtier on her behalf “As one senior royal source put it yesterday: `If the Army
say they want him there, Harry has her wholehearted support.’
But from Charles not even an unooficial comment.Iam telling you,Harry has been avoiding his Dad and Cams for months now, choosing to stay with Chelsy or at his barracks.

  37. And iam confirmed on the other thing i said that he will take leave in order to attend the Diana concert. Now the first reports are starting to state this. This whole mess with dates and the concert shows how unplanned the whole thing is.Still no tickets or new bands anounced. If a cronie from Ch is working on it,i bet they want it to heavily fail.

  38. Wasnt Diana quoted as saying that Charles was jealous of Andrew cause he was a hero and took part in a war, while he almost failed his career in the navy by going a ship aground? It makes you wonder that his son now is going to be in a war why Charles hasnt make any statement yet?

  39. Shake, this is about Harry’s deployment to a SHAM of a war. Regardless how I feel about him, Charles, Camilla, Diana or the man on the moon, I don’t want to see another person sent over there because “The Decider” says so.

“but also because of its very obvious sarcastic demeanor. ”
    By s.s. on February 23rd, 2007 at 7:30 am

You’re beginning to gain internet reading comprehension and a feel for sarcasm and attempted wit. Just because I don’t consider Harry a brain surgeon or the Pope, I can separate that from the anger I feel at seeing him put it on the line over this debacle. I don’t know how many ways I can say this: I’m sure Harry is a lovely young man, and I give him credit for standing up and INSISTING that he go to Iraq, when the pampered children of “The Decider” are no closer to serving the military than my cat. But that’s about as much thought that I give to Harry. Sorry. I am more interested in William and what he is up to, as he is God willing more likely to succeed his granny and father on the throne. I am opposed to this war. Hence you see my name in other threads concerning Harry. Search this site to see if you can find three other times when you will see me commenting in a thread PRIMARILY ABOUT HARRY, not a thread about William or Kate that has gone OT about Harry’s behavior.

Yes, if given the choice, I’d rather see Harry tumbling out of clubs, safe, rather than running around in the desert ducking RPGs.

  40. There is alot of grey in this world, no absolutes. Just because I might feel that someone is leading a frivilous existence or is making a donkey out of themsevles in front of a nightclub, does not mean that I hate them and everything about them or am incapable of seeing any good in them. I can no more FAIRLY judge Harry’s character than anyone else who does not know them personally can FAIRLY judge William, Kate, Charles, or Camilla. I don’t know any of them, except what is fed to me by the press and paparrazzi. So my opinion(s) of them are in flux, especially of Harry who has taken a beating in the press, but has done a better job of redeeming his persona than a team of Madison Ave marketing execs could ever do.

I am old enough to know that no one is perfect and people can change.

  41. Harry’s getting a great press right now, and TV too. Even the grumbly old BBC which hates the Monarchy is onside. Last evening Newsnight positively glowed over his courage and character.

    Madison Avenue watch out. :-)

  42. Hey poss you are competing with me on how long a message can be.Hehehhehe.Thats why iam interested in Harry.I have a feeling,he will be King. And its your right to like William as it is very clear you dont like Harry. So we have every right too,to like Harry and dont like WIlliam.By the way is he married yet?How ridiculus to see him in the frontpage of Hello with Kate, while at the same time all news are dedicated to Harrys deployment in Iraq.I heard this morning, that William who spoke so bravely about fighting with his men,in fact doesnt want to go,and made it clear he doesnt see the army as a career(meaning he wants out as soon as possible). So why he joined in the first place? And what he will do afterwards? What his career is going to be?His father has been complaining for so many years that being a heir has made him depressed and unhappy cause he waits all his life to be King.So WIlliam was supposed to change that and do things differently.I dont see it.

  43. I heard that Bbc report last night, and the last line was,how WIlliam is following Harry in Sandhurst and then in the Blues and Royals. If you didnt know who was born first,it sounded as if Harry was the leader and first born.Williams image has been taken down for some years now, especialy after he left Uni,with that Fake jobs, vacations and unstopable partying. He needs to do something, cause Harry is emerging more and more as the leader.

  44. “I heard this morning, that William who spoke so bravely about fighting with his men,in fact doesnt want to go.”

I forgot to say this was mentioned in relation with Afganistan,in the climate that its safer and there was a chance he was going for a month or so.

  45. Shake, Harry went first to Sandhurst because William spent four years at university.

William will spend the next three years in all three of the services, Army, Royal Navy and Royal Airforce. As King he will be Commander in Chief, so that’s an essential part of his education. Pity Tony Blair wasn’t required to do the same. ;-)

In three years, William will become Ranger and Warden of Windsor Estates, following his grandfather. He will also study the constitution and elements of the Church of which he will one day be Supreme Governor.

Not a lot of time left to patrol the Iranian border like Harry, who is a full-time professional soldier.

  46. Words are easy i havent seen any action from WIlliam yet.And Harry already by passed WIlliam when in 18 alone visited hospitals and shelters.Willie until recently was taking along Dad.William said 4 years ago,he will learn Welsh.Has he?He said in his Uni interview that in his gap year he was going to work for charities, and would probably get involved with the huge African problems.Did he?As for the army, sorry John i dont want to tell you what they say about him,and his “3 years training”.You know being flying around by Fightplanes to pick up his boots. And the WIndsor thing isnt sure yet.As i said,Harry said it,and has done it.William?

  47. Dont tell me John that you havent seen or felt that the perception about WIlliam and his popularity has changed dramatically? That there isnt the expectation,no the potential there was for him some years ago.I can see it all around.Everybody says,WIlliam he is ok,but Harry is the character,Harry is the personality,Harry is the Hunk,Harry has Dianas soul,Harry this Harry that.

  48. Shake.. what’s your problem with William? He has a different role than Harry - his life is more regimented and what is required of him (as the future King) is different. He spent his gap year (at least part of it) working in Chile in a very good organization, he graduated from a good university with a good degree, he worked his way through Sandhurst and was on the short-list to get that sword for being the best, now he’s training. And after that, he’ll rotate through the other branches of the military. He’s also picking up royal duties and appearances as he goes. Give the guy a break - it sounds like he’s pretty busy himself. Just because he isn’t being deployed like his brother doesn’t mean he doesn’t have courage or character or isn’t busy. I applaud Harry’s courage but that doesn’t mean his brother doesn’t have courage either.

  49. They used to say that about Princess Margaret, Shake, but it was Elizabeth who became Queen. With the benefit of hindsight we can be very thankful for that. ;-)

  50. Sarah the Chile part was a week in a vilage where he had a camera with him following him around.Other than that,he spended his gap year travelling and vacationing. As for the Sword of honor i never heard Sandhurst saying he was shortlisted. What i heard was that he only was managing to be average, especialy out in the filed where he got lost at at least two military exercises and not mention how he lost his gun, something others could have faced serious consequences. He gradutaed from Uni,ok,but again, mediocre degree.By the way Sarah you never seem to care about Harry. Why i have a “problem”?I just dont like him.Opinions expressed about Harry are worser sometimes, but i dont see anybody saying, whats your problem with Harry?
Realy John?I dont think so.For me she made terrible mistakes, especialy with her heir. And she brought nothing new,nor she modernised the Monarchy, and i think she should have intervened after Diana died,in the raising of her grandchildren.I think we will see all that, when Charles becomes King. You dont know how Margaret would have ended up,if she was Queen.Back then there wasnt so much press exposure.Today we have, and its evident and clear who is the born leader from the too and who is dithering.

  51. And John. You know what i know about William.

  52. Ah ah. Same as always. Diana’s fans havent the third of the huge compassion she had. “His popularity has changed dramatically” Rubbish. Diana’s fans’ invention. Delirium. Stop thinking the press is everything.
Born in one of the craziest family, growing in a over protected environment, losing a mother and suddenly becoming superstars.. And then those people just want them to be martyrs . Now nearly 10 years those hiliarious people used to believe as an adult William would make some extraordinaries things. Changing their lives. Ah ah. Then they see he is normal and doesn’t make something which could turn the world into fantasyland, then they are disappointed. Pitiless people who are focusing on the past and on Diana, who can’t stand the idea her sons can partying while she’s dead. People who want to see them talking about the past on any occasion, who would like to see them wearing those marketing badges and tee shirts with their mother’s face on it, for proving they don’t forget her. People who can’t be happy if these poor boys don’t show they are sad in front of them. People who want them to do charities 24/7, while those people are doing nothing except sitting indoors in front of their computer and blaming them every day. People who believe a mother could be happy to see one of her sons taking part in a war and could be proud to see a son risking his live. Rubbish.
I remember all i could read about Harry here. People who were blaming because of parties pics. I NEVER have read something nice about him, except of course talking superficially about his looks . Being harsh as if they were his mother or something. And now suddenly the same people are praying for him because he is goes to war. Must risk your live if you want to been offered some empathy. What hypocrisy. Of course his mother would be so happy about all this! It was the last time i post a comment here. Disgusting people.
I can’t remember who said “william has lost his looks” here. Well, this person must know that a man can’t look like his teenage years all his life and so can’t keep his silky hair and his nice pink cheeks. Then, why not put a link with your photo, as we could see what true beauty is.

  53. And whose fault was that, Shake? ;-)

  54. What you mean John?Fault?

  55. Well said, Lily.

  56. Oh.Yeah.Now i understand.

  57. Can i post a pic of my father with the Prince of Wales in Athos?

  58. And if i do,i will be taken more seriously?

  59. I think the problem must be me,since when the majority says it,it must be true.Thats what they say isnt it?You guy dont want to hear the truth. The reality/Ok.I understand it.

  60. Shake, if you have a long link, please make it a text link. If it’s an actual picture, it would need to small, less than 200 pixels wide.

  61. Oh, and it would need to be uploaded to the site, so it will have to be a link.

  62. Shake, if you’d like to email the photo to me, with a few details about it and yourself, I’ll put it up as a new post about our most prolific commenter.

  63. They talked about William and him being shortlisted for the Sword of Honor in several newspapers and magazines. You can google it if you don’t believe me Shake.
And I don’t have a problem with Harry. For what I can read (having, of course, never met either Harry or William), I think both of the princes are kind, generous young men who have done well in difficult situations. I just think you’re being unfair to William, who is in a different situation than Harry. Harry has does well in some areas of his life and I have a lot of respect for his desire to fight along with his men. But William has also done well and I just think you’re being unfair.

  64. Well said, Lily of France and well said, Sarah, I agree with both of you. What is this mania both the British and American public seems to have, this need to constantly cut down their leaders and their heroes? It is very destructive, believe me. Furthermore, I wish everyone would carefully consider the source of the information before trusting the veracity of the information. The media in America has an agenda, and their agenda is not to tell the unbiased truth. I don’t know why some in the British media want to make Prince William and Prince Harry to appear as less than what they are, but apparently some media does have that agenda. I think the Princes are remarkable young men and I am proud of them. Prince William’s path in life is set out for him. He is the Heir Presumptive and he will prepare to be King. Prince Harry has chosen the Blues and Royals and pushed hard to be included in their deployment, a gallant and brave decision. I will cheer him on, support his decision, and pray for his safe return. Can’t we all do that?

  65. Hear, hear, Gigi. Let’s have a little generosity for people who have difficult lives on our behalf, whatever their imagined failings.

  66. “Well said, Lily of France and well said, Sarah, I agree with both of you. What is this mania both the British and American public seems to have, this need to constantly cut down their leaders and their heroes? It is very destructive, believe me.”

By Gigi on February 23rd, 2007 at 4:45 pm

Gigi, I respect your opinions, but I have to say that I do not cut down my leaders by speaking out in opposition to this Iraq invasion. But I do call em like I see em. The current President of the U.S. — a man whose father arranged for him to effectively DODGE true military service in Vietnam by stashing him in the Tex Air Nat’l Guard — took the country he swore to uphold and protect to war on faulty intelligence at best. And when a former diplomat spoke out and said the intelligence was not reliable, this administration went after him and his wife, an undercover CIA agent, with everything but the kitchen sink. George Herbert Walker Bush, our 41st president and father to our current president, KNEW better than to go into Iraq, because he KNEW it would be a fool’s errand. This is the Cliff Note/Disney version, but I will not say more because Royal Anecdotes is not the proper forum.

I did not vote for this current President because I fundamentally DISAGREE with EVERYTHING that he and his party represent: GREED, AGRESSION, ARROGANCE, and a basic DISREGARD for decency and compassion towards the poor and less fortunate.

I would never attack soldiers and veterans — my father was a career Marine, who served honorably in Japan, Okinawa, and Vietnam, and is laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetary in Washington, D.C. I have other family members who are military officers, one of whom has been to Iraq, the other, who will leave her sons to serve shortly; and one, killed in action in Vietnam, whose name is on The Wall. If for no other reason I believe I am entitled to bitch about this “war” and “The Decider” who started what he cannot finish.

I DEEPLY OPPOSE this travesty, as would my father if he were here, and if that makes us bad people, then so be it.

  67. I don’t think the soldiers are at fault here…. its the governments the work under…. let’s just pray nothing happens to Harry and he’s crew! :(

  68. oops..i meant “his”

  69. ;-)

  70. Well said Positive!!! Dubya is a real arrogant piece of work and this war has more to do with avenging Daddy!!! However, lets focus on the fact that Harry is now going to Iraq to serve along with all the other son’s and daughter’s whose parents walk a tightrope every day with worry and anxiety. These are true heros and they need all our support and prayers. As for Harry I would like to see his detractors give him their support and William too, I’m sure seeing his brother in such a bad place will take a toll on him.

  71. One of the problems will be that while all soldiers pick up minor injuries, every scratch that Harry gets will be front page news.

  72. Thats the point John!! Every scratch Harry gets will be front page news and given that every nut in that country will be able to figure out exactly where he is. Harry and his troop should be strictly off limits and do the job they are being sent to do.

  73. I heard an interesting “humor” piece on Harry’s serving in Iraq on the radio yesterday. It could be a win-win situation for those opposed to the paparazzi. If they go in droves, flying dozens of helicopters to get photos of Harry:

    1. the insurgents will get so annoyed that they’ll leave Iraq; or
    2. the insurgents will get so annoyed that they’ll kill all the paps.

    We win, either way. ;)

  74. Ha, ha. It could be the newest civil war in Iraq : al Quaeda against the paparazzi. ;-)

  75. Funny. :-) And true. Move Bouji to Basra and William Kate & Harry can walk naked in and out of that club without a paparrazzi flashbulb within miles.

  76. Link to Article

You laughed at me when i said that many people will think Harry will be something positive and many will accept him with love.Who knows,we may get a big suprise./

  77. We may indeed, Shake! Very interesting article and I am glad you posted that! What a blessing it would be if Prince Harry’s example and his service could sway opinions there and change things for the good. What a reafirmation of all we hoped and believed! If only Prince Harry returns home unharmed, I will be eternally grateful.
