  1. Interesting.

  2. the article says that Kate’s mum’s maiden name was Goldsmith, which is a Jewish name. I wonder if she is of Jewish descent and if the royal family cares. According to Jewish law, if your mother is jewish, you are as well, so Kate might be considered Jewish.

  3. In England many people’s names came from a trade, like Baker, Fisher, Archer etc. Anyone trading in gold might have the name Goldsmith without any connection to the Middle East.

And as being jewish is religious rather than racial, you can only be a jew if you subscribe to that religion’s rites.

  4. Happy New Year John.
How come you haven’t been posting the latest Kate stories? Like the fact that she was on the list of most annoying people in 2006, or that she is getting special treatment at work, her mother got her the job, her boyfriend urged her to get the job etc. Is it because these paint her in a not so good light or are you still on holiday?
By the way, what happened to Shake? I miss her. Did you bann her? I hope not. Please don’t ban her, John. She made visiting this site so interesting.

  5. Mary: I don’t publish the spiteful stuff that I can’t verify. This isn’t a gossipy scandal sheet. I try to triangulate the facts as far are we’re able. Most of the stuff out there comes from the likes of Treeka and Shake — hate mail from people who need to see a shrink.
