The Prince of Wales is a Blogger

Prince Charles has added a blog to his long-standing website which has been completely redesigned.

I doubt you’ll be finding his posts on sites such as Digg or Netscape, though. A quick glance reveals there are some video clips with titles such as “Away Day: Tuesday 12th September 2006″, which shows Charles sitting in his office at Highgrove, his country home, before heading off to look at some Prince’s Trust charity projects.

Then on to the Birmingham Royal Ballet where the Prince and the Duchess of Cornwall watch a recital in the school’s new auditorium. Camilla agrees to become their new patron.

Somehow it doesn’t feel like a blog, more a PR exercise. Charles also gives us his “personal manifesto” and his views on everything from health, responsible business, faith, ethnic communities and farming.

On it he says he sees one of his roles as Prince of Wales to raise issues of national importance that might otherwise be overlooked.

He adds: “The Prince’s work aims to promote and protect what is good about Britain and its people. This will often involve The Prince acting personally as a catalyst to facilitate chance, to generate debate or to raise overlooked issues. In all these areas, the Prince aims to encourage a public debate over what he sees as vital issues to the health of the nation while avoiding party political issues. When issues become a matter for party political debate or the subject of Government police, The Prince stops raising them publicly.”

An expert estimates the cost of the redesign to be around £40,000 ($75,000). “The last time it was updated was more than eight years ago, which made it quite archaic. The Prince was very much involved in the project on a personal level and feels it is an important tool in explaining and publicising different aspects of his work. The video diary helps to make it even more accessible.”

  1. This is godo and bad… good in the side that he is letting himself be modernizedand learning new technologic things… Bad because he has opened a door for the world to be part of his private life…. and I don’t think that is not so good.

  2. it’s a sif he has given permission for the world to enter his personal life, ya know?

  3. DO NOT HAVE AFFABILITY BY THE NEW PAGE CARLOS WEB, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ON COMPLETES PRINCESS OF THE COUNTRY OF WALES DIANA NOT EVEN IS MENTIONED IT.

  4. I DO NOT HAVE AFFABILITY BY THE NEW PAGE WEB OF CHARLES, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ON COMPLETES PRINCESS OF THE COUNTRY OF WALES DIANA NOT EVEN IS MENTIONED IT.

  5. Very few people mention their former spouses after they’ve remarried, Patty. They see it as in the past, not the present.

  6. But not all ex-spouses have made a notorious mark in the world… ;-)

  7. Diana maybe dead, but she isnt in the past. Her charities, the people she helped, and those who knew her,and were taught by her,are carrying her with them.
She maybe past for Charles,William,Harry (who seem to have completely condoned the wrong doings of their father and the Highrove set against her) and Camilla. But not for us.She showed the future and how we could become better persons. This site isnt so good, from a professionals point of view.Very hard to surf, the Informations arent so clear or accesible, nor the photos or the news stories. Also very few information for William and Harry.I liked the old one more.Camilla life have been airbrushed and her formers mariage years are deleted, and her kids are mentioned in a few lines, and again very hard to find it.You have to search in order to find the old videos.Anyone noticed Charles has only WIlliams pic on his private desk?I wonder how that makes Harry feel.
