Prince William Visits Baby Unit

CBS News is reporting Prince William’s visit to a maternity ward on its showbiz page. How weird is that? They put it very nicely, though, even managing to mention Kate Middleton. Maternity ward .. Kate Middleton … hmmm, where’s the connection?

In jolly old England, Prince William visited the hospital where he was born into royalty. He was there to help inaugurate a new baby ward at St. Mary’s in Paddington, London. He spent time talking to children and speaking with a woman who had given birth to twins.

The prince chatted while awkwardly holding one of the twins in his arms — single-handedly winning the hearts of every woman on the planet! Kate Middleton, you’re one lucky woman.

Well, I suppose at a push you could call it showbiz — at least to Americans.

No broody comments, please.

  1. I really think William has inherited his mother’s affinity for children. He may not have much experience since the only baby in the family is Lady Louise but, someday he will make an excellant father.

  2. I loved the photos in the press of him holding the baby. He looked sweet and the baby was adorable.

  3. I agree I loved the photos!!!

But again with the mention of kate… she is not the end all in his life and I don’t understand why she is ALWAY’s mentioned! Especially since this visit had NOTHING to do with her!

  4. well, she is the woman he is currently dating and peopl are thinking tehy are getting engaged (knockin on wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so yeah.. we have to listen to her being mentioned for quite some time.

That geniune smile while he hold the baby .. WOW… imagine if it was his child??? *sighs dreamily* what a shame he is not non-titled man…*sighs and pouts*

  5. The press has to mention great Kate, in all things William. Her PR people secretly insist on it ……hahhaahaa….

  6. I agree Mandy… I do think that she has at least some form of PR working for her or her family. NO ONE past or present besides her has gotten such great press. They usually like to point out ones faults… as it makes them seem more like the majority of the people who read those types of publications and therefore sells more.

I find it really odd that she has gotten almost NO negative press… no one is that perfect no matter how much the press wants us to believe they are and no matter how much they want a royal wedding.

I think it is her or her family or both who have hired someone or a group of people to promote their daughter in the best of light no matter what so that people will love her and praise the ground she walks on. Unfortunantly at least on some forums it has severely backfired!

I think a lot more people would like her if she had some faults (not really bad ones) just so she would seem less “perfect” and more human. After all no one is perfect.

  7. Varya, it’s very easy for the mighty press to destroy someone for minor things, like the wrong colour shoes. I think they’re going easy in Kate’s case because they remember what happened to Diana.

The press would know if she had a publicist and there would be a lot of adverse criticism about overreaching herself. I believe her good press is because she’s not doing that. Just being herself. What a refreshing change!

  8. That’s the whole point of a publicist or a someone in the press doing your bidding, it is supposed to appear natural. The problem with Kate is that her press is syncophant, adoring, over reaching for this very average girl in almost everyway, except she dates Pr. William. I think the press is trying very hard to build a Royal Superstar out of Kate, when she just doesn’t have that special”it”, she doesn’t have that “specialness”, she’s quite average. No charisma there, the press is working hard to manufacture it for her.(Which is why I suspect somewhere, there is someone for some reason doing press-bidding for this very average girl. ) She has been in the press every week for more than 2 years and most people(except for Royal watchers, don’t care about her) Diana’s charisma was instant, her specialness was evident immediately, the public wanted to know more about her immediately, she was just dating Charles when this happened. Diana didn’t have to be “pushed” on the public, it was natural. I don’t think it matters how long William dates Kate, or how much the press tries to sell her because I don’t think she will end up marrying William in the end. William’s two year plan for his military and future role as King was announced by Clarence House all over the news, last week and there was NO mention in the slightest of a future with Kate.

  9. I couldn’t agree more with you mandy! :)
