Has Prince William Gone Too Far?
The UK Sun newspaper is reporting that the much-trailed 007 bash at Sandhurst Military Academy produced more than one surprise.
Everyone expected William to turn up in smooth style as James Bond, while Kate would be dressed as Miss Moneypenny or a slinky Bond girl. The couple turned the tables, however, by reversing the roles.
Kate made her entrance in a wet suit with a toy gun, while the future King “squeezed his bulgy bits into an itsy bitsy pale blue bikini with Hawaiian-style flowers round his neck”, says the Sun.
The newspaper even prints a mock-up of how he might have looked. It’s under a copyright embargo, so if you want to see it, click here.
A Sandhurst source is said to have revealed : “William and Kate were hilarious. All night he pretended to pout like a Bond Girl, while Kate did her impression of Sean Connery. Everyone had expected him to turn up in a black tux and her in a ball gown. It’s not often you get to spend the evening with the future King wearing a bikini.â€
The evening was attended, and therefore witnessed, by 200 guests.
The source added: “William is an excellent all-rounder. He may not be as physically strong as his brother Harry, but he has coped with sleeping in ditches just as well as the academic and classroom-based aspects of the training.â€
All-rounder he may be, but hasn’t William learned the lessons of his brother’s escapades in fancy dress and being caught off-guard by a camera phone? If real pictures get out, won’t he be a laughing stock around the world? As a future Monarch, these pictures will haunt him. Why didn’t Kate restrain him on this? Or was it her idea?
Hasn’t Prince William gone way too far this time?

I really can’t believe Williams costume being compared to Harry’s unfortunate choice of a Nazi uniform. William may be a future King but this is not going to haunt him.
He was just being a normal down to earth cadet having fun. Plenty of men dress in woman’s attire for costume parties and why should Kate have to reign him in on this.

he will be spending much of his life wearing a tuxs so lets let him have some fun! I wish I could see him, he must look hilarious.

Trudie, it may be okay in New York for a prominent man to dress in women’s clothes, but in the British establishment it’s regarded as a sign of a flaw in character. For a future King that could be a killer blow, even in these louche times.

Does a bikini actually qualify as clothing? Prince William went too far. Uncomfortably too far. He and his girlfriend would have looked spectacular as Bond and Bondette. Instead, they looked vulgar.
Britain has high hopes for Prince William. I hope he understand that soon.

If that is so, why didn’t the ever so flawless girlfriend stop him??
By Ziny on September 14th, 2006 at 11:00 pm
Because he’s “grown folks.” Kate is not his mother nor his chaperone.

OK, Pos, so William’s grown into women’s clothes. Is that good?

Womenfolk have more influence than you imagine, Ziny

It may be a bit improper but I think it shows his fun spirit and no harm done. I`m sure he`s already realized the pictures may come up to try and cause a stir, but honestly thinks it`s all just in good fun.

Excuse me Treeka but this party was at Sandhurst!! so how does this make him and elitist snob. John you could be right but the establishment from all I have read and heard have more character’s with flaws then Williams costume could consider it to be. I happen to think he has a great sense of humor.

I have to agree with Trudie.,… he is just showing he good sense of humor.

John.. I agree… women do have power over men… as well as men have power over women… its a lose lose situation lol

I think it’s hillarious!!! Although I do think it took a lot of guts for the future King to dress as a women at a MILITARY party.
Part of me thinks its just another made up or exagerated story by the media just so they can have something to write about.
Or maybe like some have said he and that girl thought it would be funny. Who knows?

that or he lost a bet… lol
By Ziny on September 16th, 2006 at 1:10 am
Ziny, well said
Trudie, yes, but in the British establishment we like to keep them hidden away, whereas in New York you let it all hang out.
