Chelsy Davy Planning Birthday Surprise for Prince Harry

Chelsy Davy

Royal Anecdotes hears that Prince Harry is to receive an “amazing” birthday surprise from his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.

Chelsy is flying to Britain to celebrate the Prince’s 22nd birthday next month. She is said to have a few surprises in store for Harry’s big day.

A source is being quoted as revealing, “She’s already planning her birthday treat for Harry and it’s going to be amazing.”

Business student Chelsy, 21, wants to spend “quality time” with Harry after they were shocked by false allegations that Harry had cheated on her.

Chelsy was said to be furious after 28-year-old TV presenter Natalie Pinkham was shown in a revealing clinch with Harry at a Chelsea nightspot, while mother-of-two, Caroline Davies, claimed she had kissed Harry and spent some time in a bath with him, apparently fully clothed.

The source added, “They’ve had a few bumpy times, but Chelsy is more in love than ever. When they’re together, they love each other to bits. It’s when they’re apart that things start to get more strained. Chelsy knows girls throw themselves at Harry. Of course, he’s got Army commitments, but she will do what she can to fit into Harry’s schedule.”

Do I detect a touch of desperation here? I hope not.

Princess Margaret’s NI Card Up For Sale on eBay

Another extraordinary story emerges about the possessions of the late Princess Margaret. It seems that her National Insurance card has popped up for sale on eBay.

You may wonder why a Princess would require one at all, but it was probably sent automatically, whether she needed a job or not.

Three members of a family appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court accused of trying to sell the card. Constance and David Neil and their son Jeffrey, from Stanley, Co Durham, were charged with handling stolen goods. They will appear again on September 1.

We know that Margaret’s son, Lord Linley, has sold many of her possessions at auction, including her house on Mustique while she was still alive. Her NI card must have been found lying around among all the bric a brac.

Shouldn’t he have had more care in handling his mother’s property?

Has Queen Moved Christmas to Windsor?

Sandringham House
The Queen’s house, Sandringham, Norfolk.

According to a new book, William’s Princess by Robert Jobson, who has a track record of getting Royal stories right, the Queen has bowed to pressure and will move the family Christmas from Sandringham to Windsor Castle.

The decision comes after Prince Charles and his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, complained that the estate is too far from their homes, and conditions are rather cramped in Sandringham House. A similar move happened in 1964 but was ended in 1988 when Windsor Castle needed extensive rewiring.

A well-placed source is quoted as saying : “The past few years at Sandringham have been pretty tense. The young ones love their grandmother dearly, but halfway through the day they’re itching to get away and see girlfriends or friends. It can be very cut off for them up there on the estate.”

Prince Harry was said to be upset that his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, was not invited to spend any time at Sandringham last year, although Kate Middleton has three times stayed with William in one of the estate cottages.

The book also chronicles how William is being promoted towards a central position in the Royal machine, The Firm, which is run like a family business. At Christmas, William was invited to his first meeting of the Way Ahead Group, a board of senior Royals and courtiers that effectively runs the Monarchy.

Jobson writes : “[This is] the most significant evidence yet of what those close to the Monarch already know : that the Queen has begun her retreat from public life.”

New Home for Prince William and Kate Middleton?

Grange Farm

As Prince William and Kate Middleton contemplate a holiday in Africa, reports are coming in that, contrary to earlier indications, the Georgian-style manor house to be built at Harewood Park, may not be William and Kate’s first home after all.

Attention is turning to Grange Farm (pictured) which is also on the extensive Harewood estate and is currently being renovated. The couple are said to have inspected the property, as well as Home Farm at Harewood, and are reported “to be keenly interested”.

A “well-placed source” quoted by the UK Mail on Sunday says : “It has always been assumed that if William were to move on to Harewood it would be into the main house. But both he and Kate are very practically minded and neither of them are particularly fussed about grand houses. At Sandringham they have stayed in a small cottage rather than in the house and they love their cottage retreat [Teapot Cottage] at Balmoral.

“They’re both really country-sloanes at heart. William is very much like his father in that way, and he and Kate have been happiest as a couple when tucked away on an estate somewhere.”

That “pencilled-in” wedding for May/June next year is becoming more feasible by the day.
