A New Royal Wedding This Autumn?

Autumn Kelly, Peter Phillips’s live-in girlfriend.
Here on Royal Anecdotes we have been discussing the possibility of a Royal wedding next year, but could we have another much sooner than that?
There’s quite a bit of speculation going on about Autumn Kelly, Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips’s live-in girlfriend. Autumn, who’s Canadian, was invited to last week’s Hebridean cruise by the Queen and is pictured (above) boarding the small luxury liner for the trip.
Princess Anne has always said that her children are not “Royal”, so an autumn/fall wedding would not strictly be a Royal wedding, although I doubt the public would make that distinction when one of the parties is a grandson of the Queen.
Voyage Over
Now that the initial voyage of the Hebridean Princess as a Royal Yacht is over, it’s interesting to reflect on the events surrounding it. The most dramatic, according to the press, was when Camilla “abandoned Charles” and “left the ship” to return home to Raymill House, her Wiltshire estate which is costing the taxpayer nearly £2 million ($3.7m) to refurbish for her police protection squad.
Actually, she left the ship with the others at the conclusion of the trip. Prince Charles remained aboard alone to sail around the top of Scotland to a point just a 20-minute drive from the Castle of Mey, where he will be joined by Camilla in five days.
Oh, the dramas the press likes to stir up.

I hope they marry, she’s just looks geniune.

What a lovely looking young woman. I hope her and Peter are happy together and do eventually marry. Any rumblings from Gatcombe Park you are privy to John?

No contacts at Gatcombe, Trudie, not even a horse.

I remember an article that quoted Peter saying he hopes to marry a “nice British girl,” but I don’t remember the source. I guess he has found a nice Commonwealth girl instead. Of all his girlfriends, Autumn is the most impressive by appearance. She seems genuine, which is more than I can say for certain other ones that dated him.
She looks like she fits in with the family as well, so I guess that’s why she has royal approval. If the shoes fits, Peter…hint hint. =)

This is all quite funny to me since I went to high school and university with Autumn Kelly. Good luck to the couple if they do decide to wed.

I worked with Autumn in London and she is absolutely the nicest and most down to earth person. It absolutely kills me to see her in the British press as I know how harsh they can be. I hope every thing works out!!

I should say I am very sorry to have repeated what I was told as well as observation regarding Autumn. I do not know her so I can only express here I am truly and profoundly sorry for any and anything I said which may have hurt your feelings. I only did an assessment based on her regarding certain things. I was going to offer an apology sooner, however I responded to comments instead of clearing the air so to speak. I did not have the impression she was as dynamic as other women in Peter’s life. I realize I neglected to say to each his own, it is ultimately up to them- I did base the assessment to prove inconsistencies with a program. She doesn’t fit the program- just the media. I am sorry John your site was what I picked. I was being honest regarding scientific observations because I refused to lie to meet a result. Who really cares what anyone thinks? It is only what one thinks of theirself that truly matters. I really do wish everyone all the best!

Ann, you are entitled to negative comments, but you should always expect some comeback if you do.

My youngest son went to the same small High School as Autumn went to, St. Thomas High School in Pointe Claire, West Island, Province of Quebec..My daughter went to the same University McGill.. This is a lovely area to bring up kids, nice local swimming pools, boating on the Lake, lots and lots of sports for the kids..This young Lady will have had a wonderful upbringing and a good education..Autumn is a credit to Canada, and the Royal Family are darn lucky to get her as a member..Cheers

Thanks for that Annmarie. The West Island, and in particular Pointe-Claire, is a wonderful place to raise kids. It has low taxes and lots of sports and cultural programs geared to kids and their families. And we’re right outside Montreal, a truly amazing city.
I agree the Royal Family is lucky to have a Pointe-Claire girl. She’s probably a breath of fresh air for that family.

I was very pleased to see the announcement of the engagement of Peter Phillips to Autumn Kelly, she seems by all who know her to be an uncomplicated really nice young lady, you did well there Peter and I wish you both every happiness. She seems to have been accepted by the Q and the RF. There seems to be a similarity with Kate Middleton in that A’s father in law is an airline pilot as was K’s, it’s just a pity that K could not avoid publicity as A has done. The questions are now being asked about the wedding with several English cathedrals being suggested, what I would say is what’s wrong with Montreal, it always has been the custom to marry in the brides church. I think the Canadians would love it and it would be great to see the Q and the RF crossing the pond to attend. She will be another plus for the monarchy despite not being HRH.
