Why Kate Middleton?

Prince William, Harry and Zara
Prince William (mounted), Zara Phillips and Prince Harry.

A lot of people are commenting adversely about Kate Middleton now, some even on this website. Your correspondent has even been accused of being Kate’s mother … as if!

Let me then divulge the most popular search terms for our little Royal corner of the internet. By far the most popular term googled by visitors here is … wait for it … “kate middleton”. Well, blow me down.

Second, with half the score, is “chelsy davy”. Third, a long way back is “princess beatrice”.

So, the girls have it, and by a wide margin. Zara is in there just, but William and Harry are very low on the list. Interestingly, Guy Pelly is not too far away from the winners’ enclosure, but nowhere near the handsome young women. Bea is the top Royal by miles.

So that’s why we give Kate some prominence here : our readers are looking for Kateish stories. The same is true of Chelsy.

Why would we write endlessly about the good ole Dook of Edinburgh when nobody googles him?

  1. As a royal girlfriend both Kate and Chelsy are interesting to most. But people are either going to love them or hate them but as for a news site or commentary site the editor can only feature stories interesting to the public at large and John you do your job well.

  2. Yes John you do. And those same people who write adversely about Kate devour any shred of information about her. If she’s so awful, why bother?????

  3. Kate is who Kate is. If the prince and her are happy, life will go on just like that. Our comments serve to merely amuse ourselves.

  4. All true. I couldn’t agree more :-)
