Kate Middleton Needs Glasses

We’ve reported before that Kate Middleton has been having trouble launching her new clothing company. After trying to set it up in her own name she realized she would have to disclose personal information which could jeopardize her security.
Now we hear that finances are a problem too. She’s determined to make a go of it without asking her father, who runs a party paraphenalia mail order business, for money.
Apparently Kate has been running up large bills travelling to Milan to choose fabrics for her designs. The ever-resourceful Kate will not be beaten though.
She has turned to one of Prince William’s closest buddies for help — the even more resourceful James Murray Wells who, at 23, runs a multi-million pound internet company, Glasses Direct.
While still a student at West of England University Jamie used his student loan to start the business in a disused stable block on his father’s estate. Not only did he take on the big high-street chains, like SpecSavers and Boots, but he negotiated deals with the manufacturers which allowed him to undercut them by a substantial amount.
Kate was recently overheard confessing her problems to Jamie: “It’s been extremely hard getting the company off the ground. I really want to prove to my dad that I can do this without asking him for any money.”
Jamie is said to be looking over her books and helping her with advice. Let’s hope all goes well for the future Middleton Enterprises.
What should Kate call her clothing line?

How about naming the company KM,Ltd very simple and very British.

This story seems to be repeated ones in a while, just to refresh our memory will’s gf has plans for an actual job. I doubt Kate is working on anything other than waiting, and hoping, and waiting some more for a ring from Prince William. I’ll believe this new venture when it actually happens.

Sounds like a potential suitor for Kate, they make a good match! Both like publicity and royal connections.

Yes KM Ltd sounds good, almost like a knighthood

Ziny, I think she’ll run into the same problems Sophie Wessex had with her PR business — lots of criticism she was using Royal influence for business. That company has now gone bust.

Mandy, I think the Kate – William thing is almost set in stone now

Dream on John…….Kate will be a long list of study girlfriends when William decides to marry in his 30’s.
By mandy on July 15th, 2006 at 12:43 am
He’s not his father, Mandy, and he is comfortable with Kate. Good base for a marriage.

No one is getting married or announcing any engagement.Just like all the tons of articles about when William was about to graduate from his uni.William&Kate will be living together at CH then it was buckingham palace then it was at some mansion his dad was building for him.Enough with all these lies and especulations.I guess they have to keep writing nonsense to grab and hold the publics attention.

John,
Comfortable is not a good basis for marriage. He should be head over heels in love with whomever he marries and have had a good steady relationship with whomever, THen marry.
With Kate I do not see any sort of interaction between them that says “I love you”. I only see them occasionaly barely acknowledge one another. They seem to be comfortablbe but not in love. IMO.
Also I really hope she is not the one, because she seems just to be a social climber that is only interested in partying and shopping. As of yet I see no evidance of her working, only a few BS articles saying she is starting her own bussiness.

But, Varya, why should she work if she’s going to marry the next heir to the throne? She doesn’t want to do what Sophie did.

There is no indication that William sees her as marriage material or his future wife. Kate is no more in a closer position to marriage than Chelsy is, both are “just” girlfriends at this point.

“Set on stone”? Let’s see this from anothee point of view… let’s imagine that William is not a prince and just a guy with lots of money. If Kate is the type of woman who is ambitous, she will still see to make some work of herself before she gets married… try to be herself, independent for once before she gets married and be “maintained”… The smartest move, although it might seem she is using his image for publicity and his friends who have influence in the business world, is to make her business flourish and then, when they are 30, get married…and if she is evil (for not ussing the “b”word) as soon as her business is up and running and very popular she will dump him.. we hope it doesn’t happen though.. poor Wills…

But at the Palace they are preparing for this event. Being a Princess/Duchess is actually a full-time job in itself, involving media appearances, openings, engagements etc. Like a doctor, you’re never really off duty.

Head over heels in love is for teenyboppers. It is not love. I agree John, comfortable with each other is an excellent start and stalwart of marriage. These two will be engaged within the next couple of years. They appear to be well suited. He appears to trust her, the bedrock of any permanent relationship.

Yes John, but a doctor trains before he becomes a QUALIFIED doctor and so Kate should get some work expierence.

Positive…being confortable is not that good at the long run… that’s when stuff happens….
By Ziny on July 16th, 2006 at 5:49 pm
I celebrate my 34th wedding anniversary to the same man later this year. Complete trust, security in our relationship and comfortableness with each other have worked for us so far.

In Latin America we have a saying, “Corazon que no ve, corazon que no siente” (Heart that doesn’t see, Heart that doesn’t hurt)… My parents also celebrate 34 yrs on june17 of marriage… 5 yrs ago my mom found out my dad was cheating, but she fought for her marriage and they are still going strong… and yes, they have always been confortable with each other and support each other… it works…but then you loose trust..
Lucky you I guess…

Things happen. But head over heels is a good beginning. But you need more than that to sustain a long-term. And I know a little bit about long-term.
By Positive on July 16th, 2006 at 9:45 pm
You certainly do, Positive. Let’s hope Wills and Kate will be just as positive after 34 years.

Thank you John.
Totally baseless guess on my part, but the boy seems to have a level head. And I really like how he has stuck with Kate, a rather ordinary girl, despite the fact that he can have any woman he wants. Well at least he has not paraded endless women around in front of the camera anyway. Such maturity on his part. From appearances I think William and Kate will be just fine.
