Prince William’s girlfriend, Kate Middleton, has been voted 94th in an FHM poll to find the sexiest woman in the world. Another famous British woman, Pride and Prejudice actress Keira Knightley, topped the list.

The 21-year-old Oscar nominee had double the reason to celebrate yesterday as she was named the new face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume.

This year saw the graduation of Prince Harry from Sandhurst Military Academy as an Army officer in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh. In December, Prince William should also pass out.

The picture captures an amusing moment when the Queen was inspecting the new officers at the Passing Out ceremony and spotted Prince Harry who blushed and beamed widely. She apparently said: “Now there’s a face I recognize.”

Prince Harry has told his Sandhurst superiors that he will quit the Army unless he is sent to the front line with his unit. His tough stance reveals how determined he is to be in the thick of the action wherever his comrades in the Blues and Royals are sent.

The Prince and his older brother, Prince William, have long insisted they are determined to see active service with their units.

Harry, 21, was commissioned earlier this month as a second lieutenant in the Household Cavalry’s Blues and Royals, the Army’s oldest and most senior regiment. The regiment has been deployed in almost every major Army operation of the past two decades, including the Falklands, both Gulf wars, Bosnia and Kosovo.

The UK Mail on Sunday reported that Harry told senior officers at Sandhurst before passing out on April 12: “If I am not allowed to join my unit in a war zone, I will hand in my uniform.”

Clarence House commented: “Prince Harry is very clear that he is joining the Army, and the Household Cavalry in particular, to serve his country as an operational soldier. On occasion there may be some circumstances in which his presence could attract additional attention, which could lead to additional risk to those he commands or himself. In these instances it is a judgment call which would principally be made by his commanding officer.”

Earlier this month a senior Army figure said it was “eminently possible” Harry could be in a danger zone within 12 months.

The image most people have of Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 21, is as a dizzy blonde wild child who “runs with a bad crowd” and spends most of her time partying.

Her exam results dispel this notion. In mid-year tests at Cape Town University she averaged 66 percent, scoring an outstanding 81 percent in her major subject, statistics, and 69 percent in comparative politics.

These results have been rather overshadowed though by the news that her father, Charles Davy, has been indicted by the Zimbabwe regime, which allegedly granted him immunity for the past ten years, for diverting funds from his safari business into offshore accounts.

If convicted, Davy could face a long prison sentence. What price then a marriage for Chelsy with her warrior Prince? Even the threat of charges in Zimbabwe will probably be enough to frighten off Harry’s minders at the Palace.

Interesting then that bright Chelsy has chosen to remain at Cape Town uni rather then spend a year studying in London, as she had planned. Talk is of her getting a First-Class Honours degree at her current alma mater.

This relationship must surely be on the rocks.
