The Royal Problem of Guy Pelly

Is Guy Pelly Prince William’s Falstaff?
Once again Prince William has been advised to step back from the walking, talking problem machine that is Guy Pelly. A British national newspaper, The Daily Mail, quotes “a police source” for the following statement:
“There is enormous concern about Pelly and the ‘fast and loose set’ that he keeps company with. Many in the Royal household believe this young man brings trouble in his wake. It has been made clear to William and Harry that Pelly is a friend they would be better off without.”
A “member of their circle” is reported as saying:
“William feels very strongly that because Guy was — wrongly, in his opinion — accused of introducing Harry to drugs, people have been out to get him for some time.”
Another “member of the circle” says:
“It’s quite pathetic really but William and Harry think he is hilarious. And whatever anyone may say about him, Guy is the soul of discretion. He would never rat on them and they appreciate his loyalty.
Is Pelly playing Falstaff to William’s Prince Hal?

The royal problem of Guy Pelly or should it be Guy Pelly’s royal problems?
Guy is a very loyal friend to William and Harry and this friendship is very rare because this young man does not speak to the media about them and treats them a normal friends this is a rarity among so called royal friendships. Perhaps the press should stop trying to sabatoge what for William and Harry is a trusted true friend who is not out to use them or suck up to them for social status as the snobby self important courtiers have in the past. leave the kid alone

Thanks Trudie. There’s a lot in what you say. The press can be very bitchy when it gets hold of someone. But I think there are warning signs. The police statement about him is quite stark — his friends, for instance. And while it’s admirable that William and Harry are so loyal — would we want them any other way? — they should be very careful about getting drawn into some very bad publicity.

From personal expereience of the chap I think the princes would do well to distance themselves from him, although their time at Sandhurst should help with that.

GUY IS THE GOOD ONE! It is the OTHER FRIENDS WHO are the ones who cause trouble. Poor Guy.

I completely agree with Kate. Peoples should not be ao unfavourable in their judgements. Most of you don’t know the real Pelly.

This person is an absolute legend - he’s one of the most kind hearted people I know and deserves a break. He doesn’t actually care what people write about him as most of it is rubbish. Trudie at the top was spot on about him. If his face wasn’t in the paper then no one would know that he was connected with the princes as he would and hates talking about it.
