The last of our Royal Christmas cards for this year. The illustration shows the card of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. It comprises a watercolour painting of their country house, Nether Lypiatt Manor, which has been up for sale at around £6 million.
Difficulties in selling the property seem to have been overcome judging by a handwritten comment on the card. Alongside the address, Princess Michael has written: “Sad farewell to …”

Have you ever had the problem of wanting to take a photograph of the family, but couldn’t find a time when all could be there?
It seems the Spanish Royal family did this year. When their Christmas card went out, observers who scan these things noticed that some poses were familiar. Others a little strange, with arms missing and limbs askew. King Juan Carlos appears legless, for instance, not a condition he would wish to be associated with.
Officials have confirmed that the photo was a composite, comprised of some poses taken at the wedding of Crown Prince Felipe last year.
It happens to the best of us.

Prince Andrew’s sepia-tinted Christmas card this year shows off his two daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, on a Scottish hillside at Balmoral. The picture was taken by Fergie, the Duchess of York, who was divorced from the Prince ten years ago.
The couple have remained close, however, with the Princesses’ mother even living in the same house.
Beatrice (left) is 17 and Eugenie 15. Beatrice and Fergie had unfavourable publicity earlier this year when the Duchess claimed she took her young daughter to nightclubs “on the pull”.
The message inside the card reads: “Embrace family unity, this Christmas, and the year ahead.”
